The Best Time To Get Married in Miami: A Seasonal Guide

June 12, 2025

The best time to get married in Miami depends on so much more than just picking a date. It’s about finding the season that speaks your love language, supports your vision, and creates a celebration you’ll want to relive for a lifetime.

Not sure where to begin? We’re here to help. As Miami locals, we’re thrilled to share our Miami wedding guide by season.

Planning A Destination Wedding In Miami, Weather-Wise

Before diving into save-the-dates and sunset ceremonies, let’s talk about the one thing we can’t control — Mother Nature.

Miami’s tropical climate is part of what makes it so alluring, but it also comes with two very distinct seasons: dry and rainy.

Dry Season

The dry season (roughly November through April) is breezy, beautiful, and beloved by couples, locals, and tourists alike for its mild temperatures and low humidity.

Rainy Season

The rainy season (May through October), on the other hand, brings heat, humidity, and afternoon showers that may be short but can also be frequent.  And you’ll probably want to avoid hurricane season, which runs from June 1st to November 30th.

Other Considerations

Then there’s the rhythm of the Miami wedding season itself. Winter and spring are peak months when the weather is at its finest, the city is buzzing, and vendors book up quickly (and at premium prices, we might add).

Summer and early fall tend to be quieter, which can mean more availability and flexibility, especially if you’re dreaming of a more intimate or budget-conscious affair.

We’ll break down the seasons in more detail below but consider this your quick-glance guide as you begin imagining your perfect Miami “I do.”

So, What’s The Best Month To Have A Wedding In Miami?

Most couples fall in love with late October through early May, which is the heart of Miami wedding season. The weather here is at its best, with warm days, cooler evenings, low humidity, and a much smaller chance of rain. This makes for the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony or golden-hour portraits by the water.

But with dreamy weather comes high demand. Since this is peak season for weddings and tourism, venues and vendors book up fast, meaning prices often follow suit. If you’re planning to have your wedding in Miami during this time, we recommend locking in your venue and top vendors at least 12 months in advance.

Also keep in mind that hotels and Airbnb’s can get pricey during high season, so offering guests a heads-up or planning a hotel block can help them plan (and save) stress-free.

Summer Weddings In Miami: What You Should Know

Miami heat isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s a whole season that runs from June through September. Summer in Miami is hot, humid, and rain-prone, making it the slowest stretch of the Miami wedding season. This also overlaps with hurricane season (June to November).

But while fewer weddings take place in the summer, that doesn’t mean it’s off the table.

In fact, if you’re looking for a more cost-conscious celebration, summer may just be your sweet spot. With lower demand, many venues and vendors offer more flexibility, and your guests may find more affordable hotel and travel options.

Of course, if you do opt for a summer wedding in Miami, we recommend securing an indoor venue, or at the very least, having a solid backup plan in case of storms. For any outdoor moments, be sure to think ahead with guest comfort in mind. Sweet, functional touches like hand fans, cooling stations, signature cocktails served over crushed ice, and plenty of shaded lounge areas can help keep everyone cool, comfortable, and ready to celebrate.

When To Get Married In Miami For Perfect Beach Weather

There’s a reason Miami is a go-to destination for beach weddings. It’s paradise, with soft sand beneath your feet, a warm breeze tousling your hair, and waves gently crashing in the background as you say, “I do.”

But to truly soak in the magic (and not the rain), timing is everything.

For the most picture-perfect beach wedding, we recommend planning your celebration during the cooler, drier months of November through April.

This stretch of Miami wedding season offers mild temps, low humidity, and much more reliable skies, making it ideal for sunset ceremonies and barefoot dances by the sea.
